Outline and Lesson Goal

Principles and Applications

I. Don’t Turn to Men: They Can’t Be Trusted (Micah 7:1-6)

  • Principle: There Are No Righteous People.
  • Application: Have you ever been in a situation in which you could not trust anyone? Can people trust you?
  • Scripture Reference

10 as it is written, “There is none righteous, not even one;
11 There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God;
12 All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.”
Romans 3:10-12 (NASB)

II. Look Up to God: The Great Savior of His People (Micah 7:7-13)

  • Principle: In Difficult Times, Trust God and Him Alone.
  • Application: Where do you go in difficult times? Do you go first to the Lord or do you trust yourself or something else?
  • Scripture Reference

 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:15-16 (NASB)

III. Receive God’s Unchanging Love (Micah 7:14-20)

  • Principle: Our Only Hope is in God’s Unchanging Love.
  • Application: Have you turned your life over to the Lord for restoration and redemption? Are you sure you are one of His people?
  • Scripture Reference

and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:5-8 (NASB)
