I. External Evidence (I John 3:11-18)
- Principle: Loving actions for other believers are the external evidence of God’s love in us.
- Application: What is the most loving thing another believer has done for you? What is the most loving thing you have done for another believer?

So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

II. Internal Evidence (I John 3:19-24)
- Principle: The Holy Spirit confirms to us that we are in the family of God.
- Application: What assurances are you receiving from the Holy Spirit regarding God’s love for you?

15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
